George Bernard Shaw said "We don't stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing." We wanted dogs to help us continue to play. In the process we have learned some invaluable lessons. (The Dog Whisperer) Ceasar Milan points out that there are three basic needs that dog have. We found that Nicholas and I hve the same needs. First, to be exercised. Second, to have discipline, and guideline's. Third to recieve affection. So we take the dogs out for a wilderness hike where we can all get out and play, we come home and feed them, and this is the after math.
I think we dream so we don't have to be apart so long. If we're in each others dreams, we can be together all the time. Calvin and Hobbes.

Gravitation is not responsible for people falling in love. Albert Einstein
I love thee, I love but thee with a love that shall not die till the sun grows cold,And the stars grow old... Bayard Taylor
Love—is anterior to Life—Posterior—to Death—Initial of Creation, and the Exponent of Earth— Emily Dickenson
Nothing worth doing is completed in our lifetime,Therefore, we are saved by hope.Nothing true or beautiful or good makes complete sense in any immediate context of history; Therefore, we are saved by faith.Nothing we do, however virtuous, can be accomplished alone. Therefore, we are saved by love.No virtuous act is quite a virtuous from the standpoint of our friend or foe as from our own; Therefore, we are saved by the final form of love which is forgiveness. Reinhold Neibuhr
I love you not only for what you are but for what I am when I am with you. Roy Croft

Koda last night for the first time in two weeks went to the front door and sat and waited to be let out. We are well on our way to house training. She now thinks its cute to bite everything and not just a cute little nip but a full on sharp tooth chomp. OUCH! That is a stage that we hope she will grow out of and fast.
She is Cooper's shadow doing everything that he does from sniffing a certain tree to sitting right next to him waiting for a treat. Sometimes I catch her looking at Cooper from the corner of her eye checking to see if she is doing exactly what he does.
Nicholas, Cooper, and Koda on a lazy Sunday afternoon were taking a nap in the computer room. Unannounced to them I was taking snapshots of them with the camera and pasting their faces on our blog.
Koda has found her sweet spot where she cozies up to get warm!

Gearing up for the activities of 2008
This year is going to be eventful and full of adventurous activities. Nicholas and I are registered for the SLC marathon happening in April. McKay and Hilary also signed up and we are hoping for a few more family members to come in and join maybe doing the half marathon instead of the full. We also have the Deseret News Marathon up East canyon which we are hoping will qualify us for the Boston Marathon, but if not we always have the St. George Marathon in October that we have already ran so we know what we are up against. We are hoping to get a relay race in there maybe the Wasatch Back. Nicholas already did this one with Taylor but I want to do it too. We need 10 more team members so if you are interested let us know. The training alone takes up a good majority of our time. In an average week we are running anywhere from 28-40 miles. With the ocassional blister or sore knee we still think that it is worth it and believe it or not, fun!
