Crossfit Games 2008

Ok so these pictures are random but I wanted to show you all how much fun we had at the crossfit games 2008 in Aromas California. Dont let Nick fool you he is an amazing athlete who placed in the top 25 of some of the most incredible athletes in the world. He was rubbing elbows with the strongest crossfiters there and he is too humble to tell you that he was one of them. I however placed 29th and all I can say is that I have consistency on my side I stayed right there the whole time. Not bad for our first go around of competition. Next year will be different as I think we are both more devoted and excited to do it next year.

The workouts were as follows

Workout A (Fran)
21-15-9
Thrusters 95/65
Pull Ups
They have laid down some pretty crazy rules on the movements. Pull ups won't count unless our CHEST touches the bar at the top! Ouch! Nick finished this in 5:05 I did it in 10:41 :(
Workout B
5 rounds
5 Deadlifts 275 for men /185 for women
10 burpees
Again, strict rules on form. Deadlifts cannot be dropped from the top...even on the last one. Burpees aren't complete unless your chest and thighs touch at the bottom and you clap while in the air up top. Nick finished in 3:33 and I did it in 4:19 :)
Hill Run
They say it is an off trail run straight up hill for 750 meters. Sounds easy enough but I have a feeling we don't know what we are in for on this! OFF TRAIL....hmmm I can see us now hopping over rocks and checking for ticks at the top! Nick finished in 3:40 and I did it in 5:00 :/
The last Workout of the day is 30 reps of 155lb for men and 100lb for women squat clean and jerks for time. Yikes!!! Nick finished his in like 7:14 and I finished in 10:14

Our group (left)was so much fun. Miranda (right) and Tyson (coach) Oldroyd, Melissa was our official fan, All the crew from Orem and Park City, Dont forget the volunteers.... There was one volunteer for every athlete who counted your reps which when you are moving that fast you are grateful for because you lose count. I had some of the coolest counters. Angel who counted for both Nick and I was our favorite. (down and left)

Tanya (on the right) who took second place over all owns crossfit Apex in Pennsylvania she rocked it.

I ripped up my hand on the 18th rep of the 1st set of pullups on the first workout of the weekend. It hurt!
Here is the hill!

We sotpped off to see my friend Liz on our way into California. Her two kids Anna and Carson and her husband Rob had left for work already cause I got them out of bed early. Love you!

Can't wait till next year!
